Adobe Premiere Pro software revolutionizes video editing, giving you precise control to bring video and audio production to a whole new level.
Adobe now groups its Encore and OnLocation application to configure video sessions (lighting, sound levels, etc.). Encore adds support for Flash output and for creating Blu-ray discs but avoids HD DVD, although Adobe is a member of the two associations supporting disc formats.
It is the most scalable, efficient and accurate video editing software available now. Premier Pro enables you to work faster and more creatively to deliver the quality work that you and your customers demand. This is a world-class desktop video editor that competes head-to-head with Apple's FinalCut Pro. In addition to working with a wide variety of formats from DV to uncompressed HD, it also has powerful built-in audio, titration and effects tools. Dynamic Link, a great feature added to last year's production suite, allows you to send projects from Adobe After Effects, or vice versa, without first turning them into a great time saver. Premiere Pro has a new "Export to Encore" function, but you still have to process your timeline before working on Encore, so I do not find it useful.

Adobe Premiere Pro has some small features that I found useful. A new Time Remapping feature lets you deploy slow motion (or fast motion) directly to the application's timeline simply by dragging a line in the clip. Although it makes the task easier, you have to right click and navigate through a pop-up menu to tell Premiere what you want the line to do (the line also serves as an adjustment tool for other effects). It would be even better if you could play your clip and adjust the playback speed in real time. While standing, you must make the adjustment and then play the clip (and on slower machines, you will need to prerender before you can play the clip), and if it is not what you want, you have to do the whole process again. The function does not work on audio that is linked to the clip, either.
You can now create and open multiple asset containers (windows) for video files, audio files and still image files. Open a container in a new window and you can drag and drop the files in the order you want, and then select which files to insert into a new video stream, with default transitions automatically inserted. In addition, you can now replace clips in a timeline without having to reimplement existing transitions and effects (however, it will re-produce the effects).
